Allen Stewart

     ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. Allen Stewart, age 53, of 1719 Ebenezer Road, Ellaville, GA, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 11, 2013 in the Ebenezer Cemetery.  Bro. Troy Fripp will officiate.

      Mr. Stewart was born February 18, 1960 in Sumter County, Georgia and was the son of Annie J. Stewart and William L. Stewart, Sr. He was a volunteer fireman with the Schley County Fire Department for 26 ½ years and also worked part time with the Sumter County Fire Department.  Mr. Stewart was previously employed by the City of Ellaville.  He was a former member of the Sumter County Saddle Club and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. 

    Mr. Stewart is survived by his companion, Lynda Lynch; one son, Chris Stewart. and his companion, Kayla Brandon of Ellaville; one stepson, Jared Lynch of Box Springs, GA; one stepdaughter, Abby McCard of Ellaville; two sisters, Faye Thompson of Ellaville, Ruby Franklin and husband Wayne of Columbus, GA. Also surviving is June Wolf, “Granny”, as she was affectionately called. Two grandchildren, Christopher Hunter Stewart and Baylee Lyn McCard also survive along with a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Stewart; and two sisters, Viola Byrd and Martha Nell Shamburger.

      Active pallbearers will include Jimmy Byrd, David Byrd, Jerry Stewart, Todd Stewart, Dwayne Stewart and Jared Lynch.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Schley County Fire Department.

     Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville.
