Auburn Barfield

ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. Auburn Barfield, age 83, of Ellaville died unexpectedly, Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at his home. A Memorial service will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church, 11:00 AM, Monday, October 31, 2011 with a private burial to follow at Andersonville National Cemetery. Rev. Hugh Harbort will officiate.
Mr. Barfield was born September 12, 1928 in Macon County, GA, the son of Ruby Hendricks Barfield and Paul Barfield. He owned Hendricks Scrap Metal in Americus, GA. Mr. Barfield was retired from the U. S. Navy after serving 20 years and was a member of the American Legion, Post 191. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Mr. Barfield is survived by his wife, Harriet H. Barfield; three daughters and sons in law, Barrie Norton and husband Jack of Americus, GA, Michele Sevy and husband Mike of Carrollton, GA, Barbara Perry and husband Mac of Leslie, GA; three sons and daughters in law, Paul Barfield of Ellaville, Tony Spears and wife Michele of Blairsville, GA, Andy Flemmons and wife Glenys of Plano, TX; three brothers and sister in law, Joe Barfield of Americus, GA, Henry Barfield and wife Bonnie of Americus, GA, Daniel Barfield of Rochelle, GA. Eighteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren also survive.
