Billy W. Hamlet

Mr. Billy W. Hamlet, 81, of Mauk, GA passed away at his residence on Monday, February 21, 2022.  Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 2:00PM in Johnson Cemetery in Mauk.  The family will greet friends at Way-Watson Funeral Home, Buena Vista on Tuesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. 

Mr. Hamlet was born January 17, 1941 in Lanett, AL to the late Horace B. and Alice Evelyn Johnson Hamlet.  He was retired as a supervisor from West Point Stevens after over 50 years of service.  Mr. Hamlet enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on lawn mowers and weed-eaters.  He could fix anything and even built his own house with a hammer and a hand saw. He was jack of all trades. 

Survivors include his wife of 62 years Sara Hamlet of Mauk, GA; three sons, Billy W. Hamlet, Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Arkansas, Mark Hamlet and his wife Crystal of Valley, AL, and Tommy Hamlet and his wife, Betty of Pembroke, GA; a daughter, Lynda Smith and her husband, Michael of Sylvania, GA; a brother, David Hamlet and his wife, Rebecca of Opelika, GA; a sister, Betsy Nichols and her husband, Jim of Statesboro, GA; a special granddaughter, Stephanie Sparks and her husband, Chris of Myrtle Beach, SC and a special grandson, Greg Medlin of Sylvania, GA; and numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
