Billy Harbuck

Mr. Archie Billy Harbuck, 79, of Smithville, GA, died February 2, 2021 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA.  Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Andrew Stucker and Rev. Hugh Harbort officiating. Friends of Mr. Harbuck can visit on Thursday from 12:00 – 5:00 PM at Way-Watson Funeral Home, Ellaville. Due to Covid-19, the use of face masks and social distancing is strongly encouraged.    

Mr. Harbuck was born May 4, 1941 in Chattahoochee County, GA, the son of the late Filmore and Alma Harbuck.  He retired from the Sumter County Road Department after 40+ years.  Mr. Harbuck was a devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church where he had served as a RA counselor, secretary of the Sunday School Classes and was a dedicated church bus driver.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and playing guitar.  Mr. Harbuck had served in the US Army.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Shutters Harbuck; one son, Bill Harbuck (Shelly) of Smithville, GA; two daughters, Linda Phillips (Brian) of Ashburn, GA, Rita Hayes (Jamey) of Meigs, GA; two sisters, Tina Ramsey (Jim) of Ellaville, and Yvonne Shutters (Cecil) of Ellaville.  Also surviving are grandchildren, Skylar Seigler (Chip), Dacoda Phillips (Ashley), Lance Scarborough, Savana Phillips, Logan Scarborough, Andrew Harbuck, Micah Harbuck; great grandchild, Hope Phillips; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Harbuck was preceded in death by two sisters, Reba Welch and Jeannette Forsythe.

Pallbearers will include Dacoda Phillips, Lance Scarborough, Logan Scarborough, Mark Shutters, Robbie Underwood, and Dwight Underwood.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shiloh Baptist Church Building Fund, 961 Shiloh Road, Americus, GA  31719.
