Billy Stubbs

Billy F. Stubbs, 66, of Box Springs, GA, died Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, October 9, 2015, at New Life Baptist Church with Reverend Brian Fuller and Rev. Jimmy Stubbs officiating. Music will be provided by Jimmy and Liz Stubbs and April Fuller will play the piano. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Lemuel Harbuck, Jr., Jimmy Chomo, Kevin Harbuck, Joe Stubbs, Amanda Stubbs, and Daniel Stubbs.  Honorary pallbearers will be Hiram Rodriguez, Toby Horton, Arthur Williams, Mike Miller, Ferlin Teat, and Andy Stubbs. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 6-8 PM.

Mr. Stubbs was born in Talbotton, GA, on June 13, 1949, to James and Ruby Stubbs. He was a member of New Life Baptist Church and Baptist by faith. He was employed with the Marion Memorial Hospital in the Maintenance department. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and enjoyed cutting wood and making syrup. He loved children.

He is survived by a brother, Joe and Donna Stubbs of Box Springs and by three sisters, Dolly Welch and Martha and Jimmy Chomo, all of Box Springs, GA, and Ann and Joe Byrnes of San Jose, CA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
