Billy Harold Watts of Buena Vista, GA, died from cancer at the age of 70 on Sunday, June 16, 2019, at Columbus Hospice Center in Columbus, GA. The family will greet friends at Watson-Tante Funeral Home on Friday, July 19, 2019, from 6:00-8:00PM
Mr. Watts was born April 22, 1949 to Cedar and Janie Watts. He served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam where he received 2 Purple Hearts. Mr. Watts enjoyed working on vehicles, loved Ole Miss Football, and watching wrestling. His favorite wrestlers were John Cena and the Undertaker. Mr. Watts loved his two fur babies Holly and Cooper. He had worked as a truck driver and police officer after serving his country and prior to becoming disabled. He was preceded in death by his parents Cedar and Janie of Oxford, MS, and a brother Bobby Glenn Watts Sr. of Oxford, MS.
Mr. Watts is survived by six children: Gail (Marty) Williams of Geneseo, KS, John (Carla) Watts of Jackson, TN, Jack (Jill) Watts of Fulton, MS, Mary (Don) Ferguson of New Albany, MS, Wesley Watts of Buena Vista, GA and Bobby Watts of Milan, IL. Mr. Watts is also survived by two sisters Betty (Rick) Crosby of Pope, MS and Barbara (the late Steve) Purdon of Oxford, MS. He leaves 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family.
The family request any memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.
