Brenda Kay Owens

Ms. Brenda Kay Owens, 51, of Americus, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center after an extended illness.  Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 26, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Ebenezer Church Cemetery with Rev. Robert Orr officiating. The family will greet friends at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home on Sunday evening, June 25 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. 

Ms. Owens was born on July 16, 1965 to Ronald David “Buddy” and Gloria Lawhorn Owens in Sumter County, GA.  She worked in the manufacturing business.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and antique shopping.  She loved animals, especially chickens and spending time with her family. She was of the Baptist faith. 

Survivors, in addition to her parents include her daughter, Jennifer Owens Raines (Jacob) of Americus, GA, two sisters, Janet Long (Mark) of Americus, Linda Owens of Andersonville, GA one brother, Johnny Owens (Teresa) of Ellaville; two grandchildren, Madison Raines, Brenna Raines and one step grandchild, Seth Raines.  Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.
