Calvin Harbuck

Mr. Monroe Calvin Harbuck, 74, of Ellaville, GA, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Perfect Care in Americus, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Sunday, March 16, 2014, in the Chapel of Watson-Tante Funeral Home with Reverend A. R. Curlee and Reverend Gary Page officiating. Burial will follow at County Line Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon, one hour prior to the service time.

Mr. Harbuck was born September 1, 1939, in Chattahoochee County, Ga, to Edgar and Myrtice Thomas Harbuck. He attended Oakland Church of God. At the age of 15, he helped his father build Martin Army Hospital.  He had previously worked at Marlett, Schultz Mobile Homes, Triple A Custom Builders, Pierce-Harvey Hardware in Dawson, Skinner’s Furniture in Americus and Jordan Hardware in Columbus. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing and camping at the river. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Sinns Tello and by his second wife, Ruth Rigsby Harbuck, by a sister, Myra Harbuck Albritton, a brother, Jimmy Harbuck, and by a son, Gary Douglas Harbuck.

He is survived by a son, Calvin Lamar Harbuck (Jackie) of Box Springs, GA; a daughter, Tammy Louise Harbuck Metz of Ellaville, GA; two brothers, Leon Harbuck of Buena Vista, GA, and Kenny Harbuck of Ellerslie, GA; a sister, Vicki Carter of Leesburg, GA; and 4 grandchildren, Patrick Ryan Necaise (Brittany) of Mississippi, Jessica Lynn Necaise of Mississippi, Paige Harbuck of Oglethorpe, GA, and Harley Harbuck of Macon, GA.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, is in charge of these arrangements.
