Carl Henry Brown

Mr. Carl Henry Brown, 74, of Ellaville, GA, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023, surrounded by family at his daughter’s residence in Americus, GA. A funeral service with military honors will be held at 10:00AM at Andersonville National Cemetery on Thursday, July 6, 2023 with Rev. Mark Poole officiating.

Mr. Brown was born in Lackawanna, NY, on March 20, 1949, to Leo Brown and Carol Jean Lehning Smallman. He was a member of Countyline Baptist Church and served in the United States Army. Mr. Brown loved golf, NASCAR and especially working around his farm with the cows. He enjoyed being a Papa and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his companion of over 20 years, Allene Griffith.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Leon White of Americus, GA, and Margo and Todd Bearden of Jefferson, GA; by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol-Jean and Jack Tharnish of West Valley, NY, and Ellen Mallaber and Joe Perrington of East Otto, NY; by seven grandchildren, Tiffany Brown, Taryn Crenshaw, Tyler Weaver, Leann White, Tyler Bearden, Trevor Bearden, and Ashlee Bearden; and by eight great-grandchildren, Hydee, Leon, Lillian, Luke, Kyler, Paisley, Tatum, and Braxton. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and lots of friends also survive.
