Carol Rogers Matlock

Carol Rogers Matlock, age 54, of Box Springs, GA, died on Sunday, February 26, 2012, at Vista Care Hospice in Columbus, GA.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Brown Springs Church of God with Reverend Greg Lowery officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7-9 PM. Serving as active pallbearers will be Kirk Matlock, Mark Hudson, Greg Hudson, Calvin Richberg, Matt Gunnels and Joey Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Griffin, Donnie Matlock, Matthew Robinson, and Jackie Robinson.

Mrs. Matlock was born April 20, 1957, in Ft. Benning, GA, to Lester and Sarah Leona Anthony Rogers. She attended Brown Springs Church of God and had been employed at Middle Flint Council on Aging. She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her mother, Sarah Anthony Rogers; by her husband, Steven Ray Matlock; by a son Steven Ryan Matlock (Carrica Greer) of Mauk, GA; by a daughter Shauna Renee Matlock Griffith (James) of West Virginia; by a brother, Melvin Rogers (Diane) of Columbus, GA; by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara Robinson (Jackie) and Patsy Hudson (Mark) all of Juniper, GA; and by two grandchildren, Sarah Rylee Matlock and Jayden Danielle Griffith.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, was in charge of these arrangements.
