ELLAVILLE, GA—Mrs. Carrie B. Johnson, 91, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Hopewell United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Tom Teate and Rev. Brooks Partain will officiate. Pallbearers will be Justin Johnson, Stuart Scott, Matt Ellis, Luke Ellis, Jim Sellars, Jimmy Harrison, Terry Haring, and David Haring.
Mrs. Johnson was born on September 11, 1925 in Marion County, GA to the late William Franklin Bartlett and Ethel Dalton Bartlett. She was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the United Methodist Women.
Survivors include her son, William C. Johnson and his wife, Janice of Ellaville; her daughter, Janet Ellis of Ellaville; four grandchildren, Justin Johnson of Pooler, GA, Jessica Scott and husband, Stuart of Cumming, GA, Matt Ellis and wife, Holly of Ellaville and Luke Ellis and wife, Melissa of Leesburg, GA; six great-grandchildren, Knox Scott, Banks Scott, Megan Ellis, Emma Ellis, Mikaela Ellis and Savannah Miller; sister-in-law, Marie James and husband, W.B. of Ellaville, GA; sister-in-law, Loraine Bartlett of Palatka, FL; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Carlton Johnson and a son-in-law, Mitchell Ellis.
Visitation will be held at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home Monday, January 23, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hopewell United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 22, Ellaville, GA 31806.
