Catherine Nasworthy Preston, 86, of Buena Vista, GA, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Columbus Hospice in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM on Friday, June 15, 2012, at New Providence Baptist Church with Rev. David Chapman, Rev. A. R. Curlee, and Trenton Boulineau officiating. Music will be provided by Linda Anthony and Tonya Preston. Burial will follow the service at Spring Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Ken Singleton, Steven Robinson, Steve Young, Kirk Welch, Robbie McCorkle, Tommy McAllister and Rick Waters. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 14, 2012, from 6-8 PM.

Mrs. Preston was born January 26, 1926, in Florida, to Luther and Thelma Dukes Nasworthy. She was Baptist by faith and a member of New Providence Baptist Church. She had been employed as an inspector for the federal government. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Preston, and by two brothers, Luther Nasworthy, Jr. and Frank Nasworthy.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Phillip and Tonya Preson and Richard Preston all of Buena Vista, GA; by two sisters, Mary Fields and Shirley Claxton, both of Swainsboro, GA; and by 4 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, is in charge of these arrangements.
