Catherine V. Youngblood

Mrs. Catherine V. Youngblood, 89, of Columbus, GA, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, June 6, 2015, in the Chapel of Watson-Tante Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Hess officiating.  Burial will follow the service at 4:00PM in Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Pitts, GA. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 5, 2015, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM.

Mrs. Youngblood was born October 7, 1925, in Arrington, AL, to Henry and Ethel Lee Rackley Cunningham.  She was a member of Trinity Temple.  Mrs. Youngblood was very friendly to everybody and never met a stranger. She loved shopping and enjoyed her activities with Covenant Woods friends.  Mrs. Youngblood was very patient and often taught people about kindness.  She loved rocks and called herself a “Rock Hound.”  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis F. Youngblood.

She is survived by four daughters, Louise Mathews of Buena Vista, GA, Betty and her husband Wayne Glaze of Columbus, GA, Linnie Youngblood of Kissimmee, FL, and Linda Joyce Davis of Buena Vista, GA; grandchildren, Anita O’Neal, Cassandra Johnston, Charlotte Jeckel, David Johnston, Sharon Griffiths, Melissa Glaze, Laurie Forehand, and Keith Forehand; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family also
