Charles Ripley Stamper

Mr. Charles Ripley Stamper, 79, of Buena Vista, GA, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Magnolia Manor of Marion County. A graveside service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Union United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Lanier Roberts officiating.

Mr. Stamper was born in Cuthbert, GA, on February 27, 1943, to Winston and Mattye Rogers Stamper. He served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Stamper was employed at Davis Monthan – Tucson Air Force Base as an airplane mechanic before his retirement at the end of 1998. While living in Tucson, AZ, he enjoyed all outdoor sports including motorbiking, horseback riding, and golf. Mr. Stamper also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved a good home cooked meal – especially at Thanksgiving. Mr. Stamper loved to visit with friends and family and could often be found out in his workshop tinkering with any type of mechanical object. He was a member of Union United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Rogers Stamper.

He is survived by his niece, Deborah Peacock and great-niece Emily Peacock, both of Americus, GA; by his companion, Patsy Widner of Buena Vista, GA; and by numerous cousins including Loxi Wells Jones, Gary Wells, Robbie Wells, and Julian Wells.
