Christine E. Halstead

ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mrs. Christine E. Halstead, age 87, of 425 Andersonville Road, Ellaville, GA died Monday morning, May 18, 2009 at her residence. Services will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Watson-Giddens Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Ellaville Cemetery. Rev. Mark Kinservik will officiate.
Mrs. Halstead was born January 30, 1922 in Schley County the daughter of Newt and Dora Eubanks. Mrs. Halstead was a homemaker and had worked at Metalux. She was a member of County Line Methodist Church. Mrs. Halstead was preceded in death by her husband, Buster Halstead and son, Dempsey Halstead.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Halstead of Ellaville, Lee Halstead of Mauk, GA; two daughters, Doraine Raybon and husband Willie of Ellaville, Shirley Watson of Ellaville; and one sister, Nettie Eason of Ellaville. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and fifteen great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will include Ron Owens, Sammie Lee, Oscar Harbuck, Steve Ibach, Chris Shirah, David Toms,and Rick Owens.
In lieu of flower, memorial may be made to Vista Care, 100 Brookstone Center Parkway, Columbus, GA 31904.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home.
