Cleveland (Cleve) Brown

Ellaville, GA --- Mr. Cleveland (Cleve) Brown, Jr, age 87, of 137 Rockdale Subdivision, Americus, GA died Sunday morning, May 24, 2009 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center in Americus. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Ellaville Baptist Church with burial to follow in Andersonville National Cemetery, Andersonville, GA. Rev. John Dent and Rev. Ben Foxworth will officiate.
Mr. Brown was born September 27, 1922 in Schley County, GA, the son of Jennie Doyle Williams Brown and Cleveland Isiah Brown. He was a WWII Army Veteran, a retired truck driver, and a member of the American Legion Post 191. Mr. Brown was a member of Ellaville Baptist Church.
Mr. Brown is survived by three daughters and sons in law, Nancy Ward and Terry of Virginia Beach, VA, Cheryl Smith and Harold of Americus, GA, Karen Simpson and Mike of Ashland, KY; three sons and daughters in law, Kenneth Brown and Cynthia of Americus, GA, Doyle Brown and Sharon of Americus, GA, and Mickey Brown and Tracie of Flatwoods, KY, one brother, Harvey L Brown of New York. Eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren also survive.
Pallbearers will include David Brown, Jay Smith, Josh Brown, Chris McAlvain, Tony Brown, Chuck Smith, and Corey Williams. Honorary pallbearers will include Robbie Brown and Jackie Howell.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 26 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville, GA.
