Dale Melton

ELLAVILLE, GA—Mr. Clinton Dale Melton, age 72 of Ellaville, GA died, Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM EST Friday, January 20, 2017 at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, AL.  Rev. Mark Poole will officiate.

     Mr. Melton was born November 8, 1944 in Hyden, KY the son of the late Roscoe and Eva Ruth Melton.  He was a retired banker, having worked for the Bank of Ellaville.  He had served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  Mr. Melton was a member of the American Legion Post 191, Lions Club, Ducks Unlimited, Civitan Club in Columbus and a member of the Schley County Tax Assessors Board.  He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed fishing.

     Survivors include his wife, Margaret Melton; son, Brian Melton and wife Kami of Lynchburg, VA; and two grandchildren, Annora Melton and Haven Melton.

     Visitation will be held at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
