Danny Earl Currington

Mr. Danny Earl Currington, 69, of Buena Vista, GA, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Magnolia Manor in Buena Vista, GA. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. David Chapman officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends on Friday, August 18, 2023, from 6:00-8:00PM. Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Wooldridge, Larry Ogan, Luke Ogan, Austin Currington, Gage Currington, Jasper Currington and Jadon Currington.

Mr. Currington was born July 19, 1954, in Reynolds, GA, to Earl Gene and Ouida Pearl Currington. He was retired as the construction superintendent with Moon Family Properties where he was Mike Moon’s right hand man. He attended New Providence Baptist Church. Mr. Currington graduated from Marion County High School in 1972. He loved Marion County sports, especially football and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs football fan. Mr. Currington enjoyed cutting grass and was a hard worker. He loved spending time with his family and was always proud of them. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jack Nicholas Currington and by a sister, Trudy Sue Ogan.

He is survived by his wife, Regina Currington of Buena Vista, GA; by a daughter, Martyna Currington; two sons Cody Currington and Adam Currington all of Buena Vista, GA; by two brothers, Flem and Judy Smith of Americus, GA, and Jerry and Cathy Smith of Smithville, GA; a sister, Drucilla and Billy Swick of West Point, GA; grandchildren, Jasper Currington, Jadon Currington, Mackenzie Jenkins, Austin Currington, Gage Currington, Garrett Mills, Gavin Mills, Chrysta Danner, Danni Ross, Wyatt Ross, and Hannah Owens; a great-granddaughter, Naomi Currington; and special friend, Ronnie Simmons. Several nieces and nephews whom he was close with also survive.
