Leonard David Green, 62, of Mauk, GA, died Thursday, December 30, 2011, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 1, 2012, at 2:30 PM at Oakland Church of God with Reverend Sydney Jones and Reverend A. R. Curlee officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Frank Hendricks, Greg Rigsby, Bill Wyrick, Ferlin Teat, Barney Teat and Scotty Jones. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6-8 PM.
Mr. Green was born July 21, 1949, in Pell City, Alabama, to Grady Earl and Wenona Lelleque Fincher Green. He was a member of Oakland Church of God and had been living in the area for the past 30 years. He had been employed by Blue Bird Wonderlodge on the assembly line. He was an Army veteran and had also served 17 years in the National Guard. He was preceded in death by his father, Grady Earl Green and by two brothers, James Green and Robert Green.
He is survived by his mother, Wenona Green of Pell City, AL; by his wife, Elaine Green of Mauk, GA; by two sons, Edward Earl Green of Mauk, GA, and Shannon Keith Green of Ideal, GA; by a brother Reverend Paul Allen and Shirley Green of Pell City, AL; by three sisters, Martha and Keith Emerson of Pell City, AL, Kathy and Van Ferguson of Pell City, AL, and Donna and Bob Muller of Vincent, AL; and by two grandchildren, Zachery Goosby and Justin Green.
Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, is in charge of these arrangements.
