David H. Nelson

ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. David Harold Nelson, age 77, of Ellaville, GA died Monday, January 21, 2013 at his residence.   A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm, Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Ellaville Baptist Church with Dr. Ben Foxworth officiating.

Mr. Nelson was born April 19, 1935 Gladstone, MI, the son of Harold Godfrey Nelson and Evelyn Nelson Kline.  He had retired after 30 years with Escanaba Paper Mill.  After retirement, Mr. Nelson was a carpenter and Christmas tree farmer.  He was a Korean War veteran, having served in the Army and the Air Force.  Mr. Nelson was a member of Post 191 of the American Legion and an active member of Ellaville Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Nelson; one son, Brian Keith Nelson of Montverde, FL; and one daughter, Tammy Ann Johnson of Apopka, FL. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by one daughter, Shelly Ann Nelson and two sons, David Nelson, Jr. and Greg Nelson.
