David L. Toms, Sr.

Mr. David L. Toms, Sr. 80, of Americus, GA, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his family. Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at County Line United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mark Kinservik and Mr. Sammy Lee officiating. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Michael Kendrick, Bill Armstrong, Jimmy Toms, Jr., Kevin Hall, Dustin Johnson, and Barry Kinservik. The family will greet friends at County Line United Methodist Church one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00PM.

Mr. Toms was born May 21, 1941, in Thomaston, GA, to James Hoyle and Eva Mae Eubanks Toms.  He had been employed as a welder at Con-Art. A member of County Line United Methodist Church, he enjoyed yard work, fishing and yard sales.  He loved his dogs, especially Baby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Toms, and his siblings, Robert Toms, Byron Toms, Mavis McGill, and Deward Toms.

He is survived by his wife, Annie Mae Toms of Americus, GA; two sons, David Toms, Jr. (Kathy) of Americus, GA, and Johnny Toms (Bobbie Jo) of Leesburg, GA; two daughters, Connie Braswell (Daniel) of Leesburg, GA, and Lori Grant (Mark) of Americus, GA; a brother, Donald Toms (Wanda) of Americus, GA; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sumter Humane Society, 108 Industrial Blvd, Americus, GA 31719.
