Dawn Heath Pountious

Mrs. Melisa Dawn Heath Pountious, 53, of Ellaville, GA, passed away on January 1, 2020 at Medical Center Navicent Health in Macon, GA. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Way-Watson Funeral Home, Ellaville, GA with Bro. Troy Fripp officiating. Burial will follow in Ellaville City Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

Mrs. Pountious was born May 10, 1966 in Americus, GA to Charles Wayne Heath and the late Connie Lee Turner Heath.  She was a member of Shema Baptist Church in Ellaville.  Dawn loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren and was an avid hunter. 

Survivors include her loving husband, Jerry Pountious of Ellaville; her father Wayne Heath and his wife, Dorothy of Ellaville; four sons, James Andrew Ferguson of Albany, GA, Travis Pountious of Central City, KY, Lance Scarbrough of McKinney, TX, and Logan Scarbrough of McKinney, TX; three daughters, Kimberly Diana Ferguson and her husband, Eric of Reynolds, GA, Kristina Nicole Smith and her fiancé Keith Bennett of Ellaville, GA, and Kristen Pountious of Jacksonville, FL.; two sisters, Wanda Millette Holcombe and her husband, Joe of Dawsonville, GA and Virginia Lamb of Ellaville; eight grandchildren, Ansley Smith, Elijah Duncan, Krisalynn Ferguson, Michael Porter, Jaden Porter, Tyson Porter, Tavin Porter, and Katara Pountious; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
