Dewey C. Barrett

Dewey C. "D. C." Barrett, 70, died on Thursday, July 28, 2011.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2011, at 11:00 am at Oakland Church of God with Reverend A. R. Curlee officiating. Music will be provided by Leon Rigsby. Burial will follow in Oakland Church of God Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers are Richard Barrett, Johnny Barrett, David Lane, Steve McSpadden, Jimmy Culpepper, Jr., Michael Rigsby, Christopher Barrett and Chris Rigsby.

Mr. Barrett was born October 11, 1940, in Cusseta, Georgia, to Dewey and Charlie Ree Scott Barrett. He was a Machinist and had been employed with Simplex Nail Company until his retirement. He attended Oakland Church of God and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and a sister.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Barrett of Buena Vista, by a daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Corey Thompson of Midland, GA; by three sisters, and by two grandsons, Corey Thompson, III and Jordan Thompson.
