Doris "Bootsie" Sorrels

Mrs. Doris G. “Bootsie” Sorrels, 86, of Ellaville, GA, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at her residence. A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jim Byington officiating. The family will greet friends at Way-Watson Funeral Home in Ellaville on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 6:00-8:00PM.

Mrs. Sorrels was born in Albany, GA, on September 23, 1938, to Elton B. and Lenora Phillips Gleaton. She was a member of Hopewell Methodist Church in Schley County. Mrs. Sorrels loved her flowers and enjoyed working alongside her husband, Charlie, in the greenhouse business for many years. She and her husband also enjoyed their travels across the United States and parts of Canada in their Airstream. Mrs. Sorrels was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings.

She is survived by her husband of 67 wonderful years, Mr. Charlie E. Sorrels of Ellaville, GA; by a daughter and son-in-law, Dee Dee and Keith McAllister of Ellaville, GA; by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles L. Sorrels and Susan Ward of Pennsylvania; by her grandson, Patrick Phillip McAllister; and her sister and brother-in-law, Diana and Jim Byington.
