Doris Laverne Carter

Mrs. Doris Laverne Robinson Carter, 70, of Buena Vista, GA, died Monday, March 17, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, in the Chapel of Watson-Tante Funeral Home with Reverend Randy Comer and Reverend Roy Peterson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Oakland Church of God Cemetery with Reverend A. R. Curlee officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, from 6-8 PM.

Mrs. Carter was born May 28, 1943, in Marion County, the daughter of James and Mary Barrett Robinson. She attended Stillwater Chapel and was a devout Christian. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and loved travelling with the love of her life, her husband.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Rory David Carter and her sister, June Hedden.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Dewey Carter, of Buena Vista, GA; three daughters, Gay and Freddie Lasseter of Leesburg, GA; Karen Cook of Albany, GA, and Wendy Carter of Americus, GA; two brothers, Jimmy and Dorothy Robinson of Carrollton, GA, and Jerry Robinson of Oklahoma; six sisters, Christine Johnson, Lera Dent, Linda and Roy Dukes, Mary Ann Peters, all of Buena Vista, GA, Vera Sanders of Phenix City, AL, and Wanda and Bobby Davenport of Dublin, GA. Nine Grandchildren, Ten Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, is in charge of these arrangements.
