Doris Lillian Perry

Mrs. Doris Lillian Lane Perry, 92, of Buena Vista, GA died Saturday April 13, 2013 at Magnolia Manor in Americus, GA.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at the Buena Vista United Methodist Church with Rev. Linda Gail Thompson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Buena Vista Cemetery.  Serving as active pallbearers will be Steve Perry, Dave Perry, Mike Buford, Stephen Perry, Lance Perry, Ashley Wheeler, Chris Wheeler, and Stuart Perry.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 15, 2013, from 6-8 pm.

Mrs. Perry was born February 2, 1921 in Ideal, GA, the daughter of Henry Lane and Eloise Roland Lane.  She was an elementary school teacher and taught Home Economics .  Mrs. Perry and her husband owned and ran a neighborhood grocery store and was co-owner of State Farm in Buena Vista.  She was a member of Buena Vista Methodist Church where she was also a member of the United Methodist Women.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Perry was preceded in death by her step mother, Pauline Murray Lane, one sister, Pauline Dowe, and a son in law, David Oxford.  Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Eldridge Wells Perry, one daughter Mary Polly Oxford of Americus, GA, one grandchild, Clay Oxford and wife Marlee of Americus.  One great grandchild, Isabella Kate Oxford, also survives.
