Dorothy Ann DeVane

Mrs. Dorothy Ann Varnum DeVane, 68, of Americus, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015 after an extended illness.  Graveside services will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Hugh Harbort officiating.  The family will receive friends at 1169 Shiloh Rd., Ellaville, GA. 

            Mrs. DeVane was born January 13, 1947 to the late Houston Monroe Varnum and Lula Mae Hardin Varnum in Leslie, GA.  She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Mrs. DeVane loved the outdoors, gardening and fishing in the river.  She was preceded in death by four brothers, Charlie Varnum, Billy Varnum (Peggy), Jack Varnum, Johnny Varnum; and a sister, Barbara Varnum Avery (Leonard).

            Survivors include her husband, Mr. Carson DeVane, her children, Mark DeVane and his wife, Loretta of Sylvester, Keith DeVane and his wife, Joett of Americus, Bonnie DeVane and Cary Moore of Americus, Travis DeVane and his wife, Kim of Ellaville and Angie Duhon and her husband, Dewey of Ellaville; a sister, Linda Varnum Harrod and her husband, Larry of Plains; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Varnum, Dianne Varnum, Diane Albritton, and Jo DeVane;  fourteen grandchildren, Leslie McKinney (Chase), Mark DeVane (Emily), Randy DeVane (Lori Holbrook), Abby DeVane, Noah DeVane, Karen Drake, Megan Price, Scott DeVane, Josh Felker (Hailey), Jake Felker (Haley Lynn), Wally DeVane, Kaitlyn DeVane, Taylor Duhon and Lance Duhon; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Dot.
