     ELLAVILLE, GA -  Earlene Willis Snider, a long-time resident of Ellaville, GA died August 27, 2015 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus following a lengthy illness.

     A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery in Ellaville, GA with Rev. Tom Teate and Rev. James Aycock officiating.  The family will be receiving family and friends at the home of Earl and Dana Snider, 148 Meadow Drive, Deerfield Plantation, Americus, GA from 4:00 until 8:00 on Friday, August 28, 2015.

     Mrs. Snider was born May 2, 1941 in Schley County, Earlene graduated from Schley County High School, married and raised her family in Ellaville with her husband, Freddie Snider.  Earlene worked most of her life alongside her husband and children in their family owned and operated businesses in Ellaville and Americus. She was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church in Schley County.

     In 1995, she and Freddie moved to Columbus, GA and later to Marietta, GA as they continued operation of the family business. In 2005, they returned to Ellaville. She assisted with Freddie’s real estate appraisal business and obtained her real estate salesperson license.

     Earlene was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Vira Willis of Schley County, and by sister Virginia Willis Scott and by brother Earl Willis .

     In addition to her husband, Earlene is survived by son Earl Snider (Dana) of Americus, daughter Sandee Pennington (Michael) of Kennesaw, eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

     She is also survived by sisters Marie Jordan (M.W.) of Vienna, Betty Brewer (Willard) of Ellaville and Helen Murphy (Mark) of Cordele. Other survivors are sister-in-law Stephanie Snider Holloway (Mickey) of Ellaville, and brothers-in-law James Watson Snider (Dorris) of Oak Ridge, Tennessee and Lamar (Marcy) Snider (Marlene) of Flynn, Texas. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
