Elise Cole Rankin

Dorothy Elise Cole Rankin, 87, died on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at the Osceola Nursing Home in Ocilla, GA.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2012, at 11:00 at the Buena Vista Cemetery, with Elder Travis Fussell and Rev. Owen Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, June 29, 2012, from 6- 8 p.m. and also on Saturday morning from 9-10 a.m. before the service.

Dorothy Elise Cole Rankin was born October 2, 1924, the daughter of Luther Norman and Soleda Bolton Cole. A native of Commerce, GA, she lived in Buena Vista from 1957 until 2010, when she moved to Ocilla. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Mickey (M.M), and her sister, Betty Hines.

She is survived by her children, Michael and Janice Rankin of Sun Lakes, AZ; Tim and Darleen Rankin of Ocilla; Drs. Melise and Duane Bunker of Ocilla; and grandchildren Christian and Jennifer Rankin of Camp Pendleton, CA; Elizabeth and Robert Johnigan of London, England; Chip Rankin of Ocilla; Dr. Joy Rankin of Ocilla; Blake Rankin of South Riding, VA; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and great grandchildren Charlie and William Johnigan; Faith and Phillip Rankin. Memorial donations may be made to either the Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church of Ocilla, GA, or the Alzheimers Foundation.
