Emily Dodson Dozier

     ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mrs. Emily Dodson Dozier, age 93, of Ellaville, GA died late Friday evening, December 14, 2012 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center in Americus, GA.  Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Watson- Giddens Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Monday, December 17, 2012 with burial to follow in the Ellaville Cemetery.  Rev. Hugh Harbort will officiate.

      Mrs. Dozier was born February 5, 1919 in Plains, GA and was the daughter of Minnie Merritt Holley Dodson and James Henderson Dodson.  She was a school teacher and a homemaker.  Mrs. Dozier was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. 

      Survivors include one daughter, Luann Dozier of New Orleans, LA; two sons, Billy Dozier and wife Lyn of Americus, Robin Dozier and wife Kim of Ellaville; one sister, Mincie Merritt Dodson Lancaster of Statesboro, GA.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.  Mrs. Dozier was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Howard Dozier; one son, Ronnie Dozier, and two grandchildren.

       Pallbearers will include Lamar Jordan, Ronnie Dupree, Cecil Shutters, Bobby Dodson, W. R. Rooks, and Jimmy Usry.  Visitation will be held Sunday, December 16, 2012 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The League of the Good Samaritan, c/o Magnolia Manor, 2001 South Lee Street, Americus, GA  31709.
