Emily Dianne Varnum

Mrs. Emily Dianne Smith Varnum, 77, of Plains, GA, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA. A graveside service will be held in Ellaville City Cemetery on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Jeff Carter officiating.

Mrs. Varnum was born in Schley County, GA, on July 31, 1944 to Levi Smith and Emily Guy Smith. She had been an office administrator with Sumter EMC. Mrs. Varnum enjoyed gardening, shopping and loved life. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Ellis Varnum.
She is survived by daughter, Vicki Franks and husband Ken of Ellaville; brother, Jeff Smith and wife Sandra of Ellaville; granddaughter, Bree O’Shields and husband Andrew; step granddaughter, Micah O’Shields and several nieces and nephews.
