Estelle Driver Battle

Mrs. Estelle Driver Battle, 95, of Ocala, FL, passed away on August 16, 2024. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 10:00 AM in Ellaville City Cemetery. The family will greet friends at Way-Watson Funeral Home in Ellaville on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM. 

Mrs. Battle was born June 10, 1929 in Ellaville, GA to Wesley and Lena Sorrells Driver. Upon her graduation from High School, Mrs. Battle attended University of Georgia for her undergraduate degree and then went on to attain her Masters degree from the University of Auburn. She taught physical education to elementary students for many years before her retirement. Mrs. Battle enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading her Bible and daily devotionals. Later in the years, she enjoyed going on walks and playing Bingo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, a sister, a niece and a nephew.

Survivors include her nephews, Daniel Israel of North Carolina and Renza Israel of Georgia; three step-children, Cathy Cunningham of Ocala, FL, Celia Elrod and her husband, Joel of West Palm Beach, FL and Warren Battle of Geneva, FL; four grandchildren, Joel Elrod, Jr. (Linda) of West Palm Beach, FL, Hollie Schwartz (Rob) of Stuart, FL, Ashleigh Lampart (Michael) of Springhill, FL, and Mallorie Campbell (Shayne) of High Springs, FL; five great-grandchildren, Jill Elrod, Callen Campbell, Declan Campbell, Mackenzie Campbell, and Warren Lampart.
