Floyce "Kitty" Reagan Peters

Ellaville

Mrs. Floyce Rosalie Reagan Peters, 93, of Ellaville passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Fellowship Home in Valdosta, GA.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 12:30 PM at Hopewell United Methodist Church, 304 Hopewell Rd., Ellaville, GA.  Burial will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons; Honorary pallbearers will be members of the UMW and members of her Sunday school class.

Mrs. Peters was born November 1, 1928 in St. Cloud, FL to Fred and Breta Whaley Reagan.  She was a graduate of St. Cloud High School before attaining her Bachelor’s Degree from Florida State University and then her Master’s degree at Oklahoma State University.  Upon graduation, Mrs. Peters worked as a therapeutic dietician for numerous hospitals and nursing homes during her career.  She was also a consultant for several Georgia school systems, where she would work for her remaining career as the Food Service Director for Cherokee County Schools and at Tri-County High School before retiring. Upon retirement, Mrs. Peters enjoyed spending time with her husband, raising cattle and traveling. She was a longtime member of Hopewell United Methodist Church and also a member of the WMU. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Lewis Peters; and two grandchildren, Jason Peters and Casie Peters.

Survivors include her three sons, Dana Reagan Peters of Barney, GA, Gary Higgins Peters of LaGrange, GA and Lewis Marion Peters of Rome, GA; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Aleta Smith, Nancy Bradford, Clara McKinney, and Ina Kay Rhode, all of St. Cloud, FL.
