Frances Goolsby Davenport

Mrs. Frances Goolsby Davenport, 83, of Ellaville passed away on July 16, 2023 in Americus, GA.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 11:00AM in the chapel of Way-Watson Funeral Home in Ellaville with Rev. Jimmie Chapman officiating.  The family will greet friends beginning at 10:00AM until service time.  Pallbearers will be Mitch Wall, Fred Rockenhaus, Edgar DeVane, Gabe Brogdon, Kasin Old, and Benny Davenport.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will also greet friends all other times at 5064 Concord Church Rd., Ellaville, GA.

Mrs. Davenport was born January 3, 1940 in Clayton County, GA to Willie Lee and Ella Phillips Goolsby.  She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Perry Wall and seven siblings.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Billy Davenport of Ellaville; two children, Daron Wall and his wife, Stacey and Sheila Wall DeVane, all of Ellaville; step-children, Pamela Queen of Athens, GA, Benny Davenport and his wife, Cindy of Columbus, GA and Elisha Staudinger and her husband, George of Phenix City, AL; five grandchildren, Mitch Wall, Graison Wall Brogdon (Gabe,) Justin Rockenhaus (Megan,) Edgar DeVane, and Perri DeVane; two great-grandchildren, Nicolas and Rhett Rockenhaus; a sister, Barbara Conine and her husband, Tommy of Griffin, GA and a sister-in-law, Ginger Goolsby of Morristown, TN; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Activities Fund at the Mattie H. Marshall Center in Magnolia Manor, 2001 S. Lee St., Americus, GA 31709.
