Garnett R. Lane

Mr. Garnett R. Lane, 93, of Buena Vista, GA, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at his residence. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Oakland Church of God Cemetery. Due to Covid-19, face coverings are encouraged and please practice social distancing.
 
Mr. Lane was born April 11, 1927, to Arthur and Annie Pearl Simmons Lane. He attended Oakland Church of God and had worked as a truck driver for US Steel. Mr. Lane had the gift of music and could play anything he picked up. He played by ear and is most known for his guitar and piano playing. Mr. Lane had worked in a cabinet shop in younger years and enjoyed tinkering with wood working. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Lane, two brothers and three sisters.
 
He is survived by his wife, Reba Barrett Lane of Buena Vista, GA; a son, David Lane of Buena Vista, GA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Ricky Maxwell of Buena Vista, GA, and Pam and Jimmy Erwin of Prairie Grove, AR; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and a nephew also survive.
