ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. General Wesley (Bo) Carswell, age 65, of Ellaville, died early Wednesday morning, August 13, 2014 at his residence. A memorial service will be held graveside at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 15, 2014 in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Bryan Bentley will officiate.
Mr. Carswell was born November 15, 1948 in Dawson, GA, the son of James Robert Carswell and Clara Dixon Carswell Richardson. He was a truck driver and a carpenter. Mr. Carswell had served in the U. S. Army as a lineman during the Vietnam War. He lived in Dublin, GA for the past ten years and was a patient at the VA Hospital from January until July of this year when he moved back to Ellaville. Mr. Carswell attended Calvary Episcopal Church in Dublin, GA.
Survivors include one son, Jamie Carswell; two step daughters, Hope Adams and Donna Adams both of Oakland, GA; two sisters, Linda Robinson and husband Steve of Port Charlotte, FL, and Jeanette Underwood; two brothers, Ricky Carswell and wife Sharon of Valdosta, GA, Terry Carswell of Albany, GA; one sister in law, Jackie Carswell of Ellaville and ex-wife Joyce Carswell of Preston, GA. Also surviving is caregiver, Mark Wilson; special niece, Brittany Underwood and a number of nieces and nephews. In additional to his parents, Mr. Carswell was preceded in death by one sister, Dale Easom and two brothers, James (Bubba) Carswell and Wayne Carswell.
In lieu of flowers, bring a balloon to release at memorial service.
