Hazel Palmer

     ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mrs. Hazel Ellis Palmer died early Thursday morning, September 10, 2015 at Perfect Care in Americus, GA.   Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Ellaville Baptist Church with entombment to follow in the Ellaville Mausoleum.  Rev. Joel Smith, Rev. Rusty Mauldin and Rev. Keith Parks will officiate.

     Mrs. Palmer was born October 23, 1926 in Schley County, the daughter of the late Joseph Monro Ellis and Minnie Jane Ellis.  She attended Georgia Southwestern College.  Mrs. Palmer along with her husband opened and ran Ellaville Floral and Gift until her retirement. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Rainbow Garden Club and Wednesday and Saturday Bridge Club.  Mrs. Palmer was a member of First Baptist Church in Americus, GA.

     Mrs. Palmer is survived by one daughter and son in law, Kim and Glen Lawhorn of Ellaville; three granddaughters, Kay (Brent) McCarty, Traci (Rusty) Tondee, Christy (Shane) Tondee, all of Ellaville. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Daniel McCarty, Shelley (Ric) Roderick, Josh Tondee, Tyler Tondee, and Christopher Tondee.  Mrs. Palmer was proceeded in death by her husband, Hughes Palmer and a sister, Marie Snipes.

     Pallbearers will include Daniel McCarty, Josh Tondee, Ric Roderick, Tyler Tondee, Christopher Tondee, and Raymond Holloman.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville, GA.
