Helen S. Welch

Helen S. Welch, age 92, of Buena Vista, GA, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at Magnolia Manor of Marion County.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday morning, August 12, 2011, at 11:00 am at the Tazewell Cemetery with Reverend David Chapman and Reverend Chris Hess officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Eric Welch, Kevin Carlisle, Fred Rogers, Eric Wodzinski, Chase Cook, Tracy Watson, and Saul Levy.

Mrs. Welch was born March 23, 1919, in Marion County, Georgia, to Jessie W. and Julie Mae Cook Smith. She was a member of Tazewell Baptist and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Welch.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, James R. (Bump) and Cindy Welch, Curtis and Elaine Welch, and Taylor and Em Welch, all of Buena Vista; by two daughters and a son-in-law, Penny and Derrell Cook of Buena Vista and Karen Welch of Lagrange, GA; by a sister, Frances Hicks of Plains, GA; by 8 grandchildren, Eric Welch, Jeff Carlisle, Kevin Carlisle, Candace Rogers, Tiffany Wodzinski, Marti Watson, Brandi Levy and Chase Cook; by 17 great-grandchildren, and by one great-great-grandchild.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home in Buena Vista, GA, was in charge of arrangements.
