Hugh Hurst

     ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. Hugh Hurst, 70, died on July 10, 2014 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 4:00PM at Hopewell United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Teate officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ellaville Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Bret Stewart, Bryan Stewart, Bill Barksdale, Sandy Bell, John Bell, and Chad Bell.  The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday, July 12, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. 

Mr. Hurst was born February 2, 1944 in Mobile, AL to the late Hugh Jason Hurst and Mrs. Evelyn Hurst Carpenter of Americus, GA.  He was in the Army National Guard and retired from Life of Georgia Insurance Co.  Mr. Hurst was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church in Ellaville, GA.

            Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, June Hurst; one daughter, Beth Stewart and husband Steve of Vienna, GA; one son, Joe Hurst of Alpharetta, GA; one sister, Marie Bell and husband Alf of Americus, GA; two grandsons, Bret Stewart and Bryan Stewart.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.
