ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. James Lee Sewell, 75, passed away on May 23, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 26, 2014 at 10:00AM in the chapel of Watson-Giddens Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Kinservik, Rev. Jimmy Sharp and Mr. Sammy Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the County Line Methodist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Rix, Wade Bartlett, Ricky Anderson, Greg Anderson, Mike Barry and Kevin Crook. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Tuggle, Eddie Hunnewell, Frank Miller, David Miller, W.B. James, Mark Royal, Gene Solinger, Jett Coptsias and Chester Tatum. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 25, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. The family may be reached at their home, 7361 GA Hwy 228, Ellaville.
Mr. Sewell was born April 12, 1939 in Fairburn, GA to the late M.H. Sewell and Anella Cannaday Sewell. He was a member and Chairman of the Board at County Line Methodist Church. Mr. Sewell was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Sewell Paul and Janelle Sewell Pelt.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Virginia Sewell of Ellaville, three daughters, Michelle Sewell Miller and her husband, Mark of Edison, GA, Regina Sewell Hunnewell and her husband, Todd of Brunswick, GA and Marcia McClung of Ellaville; four grandchildren, Jacob Lee Miller, Tyler Hunnewell, Zeke Miller and Josh McClung and his fiancé Debbie Sullivan; a brother-in-law, Lamar Paul of Rome, GA; three nieces, Lynn Paul Owen, Karen Paul Salmond and her husband, George and Laurie Pelt Skipper; three nephews, Raymond Paul and his wife, Susan, David Paul and Wayne Paul and his wife, Audrey; and several cousins and other family members.
Flowers are acceptable, or donations may be made to the County Line United Methodist Church Building Fund or to Phoebe Sumter Hospice in memory of Mr. Sewell.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Michael Raines and the staff of Phoebe Sumter Hospice, Innovative Senior Solutions and Linda Hamsley, FNP & Southwest Georgia Primary Care for their support during this difficult time.
