Janice Folds

Mrs. Janice Laverne Folds, 81, of Ellaville passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021 in Marietta, GA. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021 at Ellaville Baptist Church at 12:30 PM with Rev. Joel Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery at 2:00 PM. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

Mrs. Folds was born August 1, 1940 in Scottdale, GA to Columbus and Ruby Skinner. She had worked as the City Clerk for the City of Ellaville. Mrs. Folds was a member of Ellaville Baptist Church where she was a member of the Gleaners Sunday School, the JOY Club and the WMU. She had also served as the church clerk. Mrs. Folds served her community by being a census taker and by serving on the Schley County Tax Assessor Board. She was also a member of the Georgia Municipal Clerks Association.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin Folds, Sr.; a daughter, Pam O’Donnell and her husband Sean; two sons, Marvin Folds, Jr. and Douglas Folds; a sister, Barbara-Jean Wade; and two grandchildren, Ryan O’Donnell and Braeden O’Donnell.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Autism Speaks, Special Olympics of Georgia or the American Cancer Society.
