Jesse Riner McCorkle, 84, of Cobb, GA, died Saturday, December 24, 2011, at Cordele Health and Rehab in Cordele, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at New Providence Baptist Church with Elder Dennis Johnson and Reverend Lawton Sammons officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Serving as pallbearers are Paul McCorkle, Lance Richards, Josh Aull, Vance McCorkle, John McCorkle, Jimmy Hudson, Dennis Hudson and John Watts.
Mr. McCorkle was born June 7, 1927, in Buena Vista, GA, to Riner Paul and Elizabeth Cook McCorkle. He attended Mt. Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church and had been employed at Western Electric as an Installer for 30 years. He had served in the army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother Mollie McCorkle.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Anne McCorkle, by three sons, Kevin McCorkle and Jesse Jr. and Jan McCorkle, all of Cobb, GA, and Winston Hall of Welister, FL; by a daughter Deborah and Loyce Clark of Cobb, GA; by three brothers, C. R. and Pauline McCorkle, Joe McCorkle, and Bobby and Dorie McCorkle; and by four sisters, Marianne and James Hudson, Elizabeth and Harry Lehman, Rena and Tony DiFilippo, and Louise and John Pisarri. Several Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren also survive.
Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, is in charge of these arrangements.
