Jimmie Donald Moore

Mr. Jimmie Donald Moore, 85, of Cusseta, GA, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville, GA. A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Harmony Cemetery in Cusseta, GA, with Rev. Rob McDaniel officiating. The family will greet friends on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Way-Watson Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00PM. 

Mr. Moore was born in Chattahoochee County, GA, on September 19, 1937, to L. B. Moore, Sr. and Evie Lou Moore. He served honorably in the United States Air Force for 22 years before retiring. Mr. Moore loved his country and his community and served them both throughout his lifetime.  After retiring from the military, Mr. Moore worked with the postal service, drove a school bus and helped form the volunteer fire department in Chattahoochee County.  He served as a county commissioner for many years. Mr. Moore was a member of Smith #85 Masonic Lodge in Richland, GA as well as a member of the Lions Club.  He loved his family and enjoyed gardening. In his youth, he loved to run. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Aussie Jean Weed Moore and by two brothers, L. B. Moore, Jr. and Clayton Moore.

He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Jenifer and Bobby Wing of Phenix City, AL, and Debra Griffin of LaGrange, GA; by his second wife, Patsy Jenkins of Cusseta, GA; by a sister, Lois Brown in Kansas City, MO; and by two grandchildren, Derek and Christin Villiard and Emili Wing.
