Mr. Jimmy Lunsford Cox, 67 of Poulan, GA passed away at his residence on Monday, May 31, 2021. Memorial services will be held at Way-Watson Funeral Home, Ellaville on Monday, June 7, 2021, at 2:00 PM. The family will be accepting visitors on Sunday, June 6 at 1972 Brooks Rd, Ideal, GA.
Mr. Cox was born January 15, 1954, in Tampa, FL to Paul L. Cox, Sr. and the late Bernice Juanita Hutto Hafer. Jimmy was a retired automotive mechanic of 40 years and took great pleasure in the outdoors and building and creating things by hand. He was known as a skilled fisherman and card shark with an enormous heart. He had a soft spot for children and stray animals and would graciously lend a helping hand to anyone in need even if it meant giving his last. His other passions included music, dirt roads, and Ford trucks. A humble man, he was most proud to be a loving father and Pawpaw. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by siblings, Richard Woodard, Ron Woodard, Marvin Woodard, and Annette Smith. Also, a granddaughter, Casey Baker.
Survivors include his sons, Scotty Baker and his wife, Kim of Americus, GA, Michael Cox and his wife, Ciji of Ideal, GA, and Christopher Cox of Poulan, GA; his daughter, Melinda Webb and her husband, Roy of Poulan, GA; his father, Paul L. Cox, Sr. and his wife Evelyn of Oglethorpe, GA; two brothers, Paul L. Cox, Jr. and his wife, Berta of Oglethorpe, GA and Joseph Hafer and his wife, Debbie of Tampa, FL; four sisters, Linda Bradley and her husband, Dean of Riverview, FL, Debbie Daniels of Tampa, FL, Cheryle Wethington and her husband, Dale of Riverview, FL, and Brenda Rigo and her husband, Paul of Tybee Island, GA; twelve grandchildren, Amber Tunney (Dillan), Bridgett Baker, Tiffany Jones, Stefan Webb, Blaine Webb, Skylor Webb, Kaleb Webb, Wade Cox, Andrew Cox, Hayden Cox, Austin Cox, and Isla Cox; three great-grandchildren, Scarlett Miles, Gamora Miles, and Logan Baker; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family.
