John Blake Benefield, Jr.

ELLAVILLE --- Mr. John Blake Benefield, Jr., age 71, of 429 Andersonville Road Ellaville, GA, died Friday March 16, 2012, at the Willson Hospice House in Albany, GA. Funeral services will be held at Graveside, 11:00AM, Monday, March 19, 2012, in the Ellaville Cemetery. Rev. Lowell Layman and Rev. Bryan Bentley will officiate.

Mr. Benefield was born February 9, 1941, in Schley County, the son of John Blake Benefield, Sr. and Cathryn Dillard Benefield. He was a member of Ellaville United Methodist Church, self employed Mobile Home Escorter, and an Apartment Complex Manager.

Mr. Benefield is survived by his companion of 26 years, Ms. Hilda Welch, one son, John Blake Benefield, III of Chesapeake, VA; four daughters, Yvonne Parkinson of Post Falls, Idaho, Karrie Brown of Courd'alane, Idaho, Yvette Benefield of Gardenville, Nevada, and Sharon Benefield of Warner Robins, GA; Two step-daughters, Connie Rush of Buena Vista,GA, and Charlotte Everett of Americus, GA; and thirteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 18, 2012, from 4-6 at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville. Donations may be made to March of Dimes, 1275 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY 10605.
