Mr. John Terry Kanazawa, 71, of Montezuma, GA, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon, GA. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 3:00 PM in Bertha Dozier Memorial Park, Montezuma, GA. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
Mr. Kanazawa was born May 17, 1947 in Columbus, OH to the late Richard and Margaret Smith Kanazawa. He was a graduate of Macon County High School. Mr. Kanazawa was of the Catholic faith and a Shriner and Mason of the Travelers Rest Lodge #65, F&AM in Montezuma. He worked in many different fields, having been Chief Deputy of the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, as well as owning his own construction business and automotive business. Mr. Kanazawa loved spending time with his family, especially going fishing with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kanazawa was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Kanazawa.
Survivors include his two children, John Kanazawa of Greensboro, NC and Jason Kanazawa (Sam) of Ellaville, GA; his lifelong companion, Mary Jane Kanazawa of Oglethorpe, GA; a brother, Mike Kanazawa of Forsyth, GA; two grandchildren, Jay and Cooper Kanazawa; and two nephews, Dane and Wes Kanazawa.
