John Robert Brown

ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. John Robert Brown, age 69, of Ellaville died peacefully at his home and went to be with Jesus, Saturday morning, December 17, 2011. A funeral service will be held graveside, Monday, December 19, 2011 at 300 in the Ellaville Cemetery. Dr. Ben Foxworth will officiate.
Mr. Brown was born December 8, 1942 in Schley County, GA, the son of Rufus and Wilna Hobbs Brown. He was a retired machinist, having worked at Greenfield Metal Products 26 years, Tyson Foods 10 years, Oakcrest Lumber 3 years, and several other odd jobs whenever someone needed a part made on a lathe. He was an avid turkey hunter, making his own turkey calls. He also loved fishing on the Flint River with his son, grandson, wife and friends.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of 48 years, Eileen, his beloved son and grandson, Chris and Kaeden, a very special cousin, Gail Bone and her family. In addition to his parent, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynda Brown and a brother, Bill Brown.
Pallbearers will include Dariel Streetman, Ellis Larkin, Luther Wilson, Kevin Sprott, Bentley Theus, Derick Bone, Guy Smith, Jack Kearbey,Duane Register, William Jordan and Danny Hollon.
Visitation will be held Sunday December 18, 2011 from 2:00 until 4:00 in the afternoon at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville, GA
