John Richard Stratford

     Mr. John Richard Stratford, 83 of Ellaville, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, December 4, 2020 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 12:00 Noon.  Due to Covid-19, face coverings are encouraged and please practice social distancing.

     Mr. Stratford was born in Cottonton, AL on October 11, 1937 the son of John Ethron Stratford and Bessie Irene Stratford.  He retired from Bosch, Inc. as a machinist. Mr. Stratford loved spending time with family and friends.  He enjoyed fishing in Florida and hunting. Mr. Stratford also was an avid collector of Hess trucks and enjoyed restoring Ranger trucks.   In addition to his parents, Mr. Stratford was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Bogar; infant sister, Catherine Stratford; and son-in-law, Wayne Waldrop.

     Mr. Stratford is survived by his wife, Ramona Hatfield Stratford; children, Debbie Vickery, Karen Waldrop, Angie Flowers, Pam Jurczak (Jeff), John Stratford (Lanie), Jeff Stratford (April); stepdaughters, Laura Barnett (Bruce) and Tammi Barnett. Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
