Mr. José M. Gutierrez Flores, 63, of Buena Vista, GA, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Moon Family Theater in Buena Vista, GA. Burial will follow the service in Buena Vista Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 4:00-6:00PM in the Chapel of Way-Watson Funeral Home in Buena Vista, GA with a memorial mass to follow, beginning at 6:00PM in the Chapel.
Mr. José M. Gutierrez Flores was born in Anamoros, El Salvador, on November 26, 1961, the eldest child of Adan Flores and Carmen Gutierrez. He joined the El Salvador Military at age 13 during the civil war and two years later was promoted to Sergeant. He immigrated to the United States at age 15, and settled in Chicago, IL. Ever the hard worker, he held down three jobs at the age of 16. After meeting and marrying his beloved wife, Maria, they moved to Cumming, GA, where he was hired as a supervisor at the local Tyson Foods plant there. He was later promoted to Employment Manager for the states of Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi by the Tyson Main Office. With this promotion came another move – to Buena Vista, Georgia. In 1989, he branched out on his own and built Unlimited Contract Services from the ground up. This provided employment to over 800 people. After the creation of Unlimited Contract Services, Mr. Jose went on to establish Peach State Poultry Supplies, White Gold Industries, Good Pride Auto Services, Buena Vista Rental and Services, and Hacienda El Altar. He later added Goot Gas and Go and Goot Pride Storage Units to his list of accomplishments in the business world. He was a man of warmth, kindness, and genuine interest in others. He had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued. His unwavering support and infectious spirit touched many lives, leaving a lasting legacy of love and friendship. His life stands as a testament to his brilliance, passion, and energy. He was preceded in death by two sons, Erick José Gutierrez and Julian Gutierrez.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Maria G. Gutierrez; by three children, Alex Gutierrez, Jessica Gutierrez, and Monica Gutierrez (Adam Adler); by three brothers, Oscar Gutierrez, Wilfredo Gutierrez, and German Gutierrez; by a sister Lourdes Gutierrez; and by three grandchildren, Nathan Dominguez, Abigail Juliana Adler, and Madison Mae Adler. Numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family also survive as well as a multitude of friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives he enriched.
