Joseph John Barnes, Jr.

Joseph John Barnes, Jr., 63, of Buena Vista, GA, died Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at his residence.

Mr. Barnes was born November 11, 1950, in Baltimore, MD, to Isabell Kline and Joseph Barnes, Sr.  He was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith and was devoted to the Lord. He worked for the USDA, FSIS since 1997. He served in the U. S. Army in the Vietnam War in 1969.  He was a very loving, caring, and devoted husband and father. He touched the lives of everyone he met. He liked the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and working with his salt water aquarium. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Elbert Barnes.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Barnes of Buena Vista, GA; daughters, Heather Rhodes (James) of Ware Shoals, SC, and Rebecca Barnes of Columbus, GA; 3 brothers, Bill Barnes (Jackie) of North, SC, Mike Barnes (Debbie) of Sinks Grove, WV, Larry Barnes (Rebecca) of Fremont, NE; 1 sister, Maria Hinkle (Laun) of Fremont, NE; 2 grandchildren, Joseph and Hannah Rhodes and several nieces and nephews also survive.
